Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup soft shortening (half butter)

1-cup peanut butter

1-cup sugar

1-cup brown sugar

2 eggs

2½ cups sifted flour

1-teaspoon baking powder

1½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt


Mix wet ingredients thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in. Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of large walnuts. Place 3 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten with fork dipped in flour...crisscross. Bake until set, but not hard. Bake at 375 degrees, 10 to 12 minutes.
